EMQ’s With Deadaudiosaints

07/03/2024

Hi everyone! Welcome to another EMQs interview, this time with British Alt Rock band Deadaudiosaints. Huge thanks to Danny, the vocalist, for taking part.

What is your name, what do you play and can you tell us a little bit about the history of the band?

I’m Danny and I am the main vocalist. Formed by myself and Corey (Brothers) added Damon into the mix on drums, who introduced Luke to help with production stuff.

How did you come up with your band name?

It was one of those lightning bolt moments that stuck when messing around with different names and variations of the name.

What Country / Region are you from and what is the Metal / Rock scene like there?

We are based in Yorkshire. Our particular hometown doesn’t really have much happening. A few people are trying to put regular things together and we fully support that. The more platforms to gig / launch a band the better.

What is your latest release?

We have just released our latest single & video for ‘Anymore’. Taken from our upcoming EP ‘To Whom It May Concern…’ out 3rd May, 2024.

Who have been your greatest influences?

For me my main musical influences are Placebo, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails. The presentation of these acts have always been influential to me.

What first got you into music?

Marilyn Manson. The music, the presentation. Everything around Mechanical Animals and Hollywood. I just loved everything about both the albums.

If you could collaborate with a current band or musician, who would it be?

For me it would be Crosses. I love their material. Sonically they are amazing.

If you could play any festival in the world, which would you choose and why?

Lollapalooza is definitely up there on the bucket list. I think it’s because of Perry Ferrell and any coverage I’ve seen of it looks really cool.

What’s the weirdest gift you have ever received from a fan?

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever received anything weird from a fan or friend of the band.

If you had one message for your fans, what would it be?

We always appreciate the support, and it means more to us than you’ll ever know.

If you could bring one rock star back from the dead, who would it be?

Either Prince or Scott Weiland. Both hugely talented and influential artists.

What do you enjoy the most about being a musician? And what do you hate?

Playing Live to a cool crowd is always the best part. There’s always a feeling of catharsis when playing a cool show with a great crowd connection. Then there’s the absolute flip of that which has happened to us all at some point. It can be soul destroying.

If you could change one thing about the music industry, what would it be?

Sometimes the one thing I would change would be everything!

Name one of your all-time favourite albums?

Placebo – “Loud Like Love”. I absolutely adore this record.

What’s best? Vinyl, Cassettes, CD’s or Downloads?

For me it would be either Cassettes or CD’s. I have quite a large CD collection. I don’t buy CD’s as much I used to but always make sure to get my favourite artists albums on CD if I really like an album I will try and get to on vinyl also. More for a collector’s item rather than to listen to.

What’s the best gig that you have played to date?

I know it’s a bit of a question dodge, but I’ve / we’ve played so many really cool shows. It’s hard to pick out just one.

If you weren’t a musician, what else would you be doing?

Racing Cars (which I also do now, I’d just do it more!!).

Which five people would you invite to a dinner party?

Marilyn Manson, Brian Molko, Shirley Manson, Lady Gaga, Lenny Kravitz. That would be an interesting musical gathering.

What’s next for the band?

We are busy with building the release of ‘To Whom It May Concern…’ We are also planning quite a lot of shows in the future. I suppose it’s the cliche of watch this space at the minute.

What Social Media / Website links do you use to get your music out to people?

We run all of our social media between ourselves. We use pretty much most platforms .

Time for a very British question now. As an alternative to the humble sandwich, is the correct name for a round piece of bread common in the UK either a Bap, a Barm (or Barm Cake), a Batch, a Bun a Cob, a Muffin, a Roll or a Tea Cake?

It’s a Bread Cake!!!

Thank you for your time. Is there anything else that you would like to add?
Check out Deadaudiosaints. Come to a show. You might just find your new favourite band. Get ‘To Whom It May Concern..’ 3rd May 🤘🕺
