Interview with BLEAK HOUSE (with exclusive live footage)
Interview and Videography by Chris Galea

Bleak House are the very personification of the ‘cult band’ epithet. Despite having recorded just a handful of demos and EPs, the band has always been quite influential. Indeed Bleak House preceded the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) and also lived through that movement’s boom.

Incredibly, the band got back together after more than 4 decades of silence to perform at Germany’s Keep It True festival in April 2024. Before that festival the band decided to give a ‘warm-up’ show for family and friends. This quickly escalated into a sold-out gig that attracted fans from all over Europe as well as several seasoned musicians such as Bill Steer (Carcass, Napalm Death).

I took advantage of all this to ask 3 original members a few questions. This is not meant to be an in-depth interview but more of an introduction to the band.
