EMQs With Rise Behavior

What is your name, what do you play and can you tell us a little bit about the history of the band?
I’m Ranieri, the singer. The band started in 2019, about February/March. First, everything started with me, and Alessandro, the guitar player. We thought about what we could bring differently in all ideas. So, we called Juliano, the keyboard player. After that, came Robson, our drummer, and last but not least, Eduardo, the bassist. We blend heavy ideas, with melodies and some prog parts.
How did you come up with your band name?
Well, we thought about what could bring to the balance between what we talk about in the lyrics and the main ideas, being a melodeath. Therefore, we found a name that sounds like an alert.
What Country / Region are you from and what is the Metal / Rock scene like there?
We’re from Blumenau, in Brazil. Here we have good promoters, clubs to play, camping fests… the underground is alive here.
What is your latest release? (Album, EP, Single, Video)
It’s our debut album called A Path To Obliteration. Released last year, 1st August 2024.
Who have been your greatest influences?
Well, a lot… but to mention a few bands, I can say: Septicflesh, Insoumnium, Children of Bodom, Omnium Gatherum, Carach Angren, Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth…
What first got you into music?
My family is very musical. But, for heavy things, it was the Nirvana unplugged, ironically. During the summer (here in the South hemisphere hehehe), an older cousin brought it, and was magical how that sound hypnotized me.
If you could collaborate with a current band or musician who would it be?
Oh! That’s a good one! There are so many of them… But, I really would like to collaborate with Jani Liimatainen.
If you could play any festival in the world, which would you choose and why?
I think that would be special, Wacken Open Air. A big one, popular, with a great audience and a kind of stamp that you have quality.
What’s the weirdest gift you have ever received from a fan?
‘Till now, nothing was weird, YET hahaha.
If you had one message for your fans, what would it be?
It’s upon us to make this a better place.
If you could bring one rock star back from the dead, who would it be?
That one it’s hard! Hmmm… Ronnie James Dio!
What do you enjoy the most about being a musician? And what do you hate?
Creating a connection with people with our art, it’s amazing. I hate to wait. To start the rehearsal, to start the trip… I’m an anxious person hehehehe.
If you could change one thing about the music industry, what would it be?
Some way to support the artist and the art, more.
Name one of your all-time favourite albums?
Children Of Bodom – Follow The Reaper.
What’s best? Vinyl, Cassettes, CDs or Downloads?
I’m from the CDs team hehehe.
What’s the best gig that you have played to date?
10th August, 2024. The album release show.
If you weren’t a musician, what else would you be doing?
I really don’t know. But, I am still working a daily job hehehe.
Which five people would you invite to a dinner party?
For sure some friends that are close. I don’t want to take the risk of breaking the magic that my idols have.
What’s next for the band?
Get more gigs, and this year, we’ll release a single.

There’s a long-standing food-based debate here in the UK. And we’d like your help. So… A Jaffa cake – is it a cake or a biscuit? Discuss!
Oh! I never heard about it. But… I think if it’s a Jaffa CAKE, I’d say that it’s a cake hahaha.
Thank you for your time. Is there anything else that you would like to add?
I really would like to thank you for the opportunity and the support, making room to talk about me and the Rise Behavior! Keep Metal Alive! Cheers!
