EMQ’s with ORDER 69

Hi everyone! Welcome to our new EMQ’s interview with Münster, Germany based Rock/Blues trio, Order 69. Huge thanks to them for taking part.

What is your name, what do you play, and can you tell us a little bit about the history of the band?

We are ‘Order 69’ from Münster, Germany. We are a Rock & Roll trio, doing what we love. Ramin Safarabadi is our lead singer, guitar player and commander in chief. Levent Özdemir, on the drums and Kenan Özdemir, on the bass are handling the heartbeat. We met at a local blues jam and it was love at first feel.

How did you come up with your band name?

It was a drunk Star Wars-joke. We started the band for fun…turned out we don’t suck, started a career and now the name has stuck…

What Country/Region are you from and what is the Metal/Rock scene like there?

The music scene in Münster is (or used to be pre-pandemic) in a pretty good shape. Jam sessions and a lively club-scene for all genres and audiences make this a great place to live, work and visit!

What is your latest release? (Album, EP, Single, Video)

Our album “Order 69” came out about a year ago. This October we published our music video for the song ‘Fire & Fuel’ featuring the amazing Sina Brunner doing acrobatics. Do yourself a favour and check it out on YouTube!

‘Fire & Fuel’ (Official Video)

Who have been your greatest influences?

The Beatles! Mix in some punk, some Rock & Roll and Blues!

What first got you into music?

There is no way around it, where we live.

If you could collaborate with a current band or musician who would it be?

A jam with Doyle Bramhall II sounds like a blessing!

If you could play any festival in the world, which would you choose and why?

If we had a time machine? Monsters Of Rock in Moscow! Just looks sick.

What’s the weirdest gift you have ever received from a fan?

Love and compassion…in other words: 50 bucks.

If you had one message for your fans, what would it be?

Dont fuck Mother Earth, kids!

If you could bring one rock star back from the dead, who would it be?

Keith Moon!

What do you enjoy the most about being a musician? And what do you hate?

The community and the friendships that come with it. It’s a magical thing that brings people together… we don’t like backstabbers, though! Also, the social media work kinda sucks…

If you could change one thing about the music industry, what would it be?

Labels and artists should have more of a democratic relationship. Thanks to the internet and the opening possibilities of self-publishing we’re on a good way there.

Name one of your all-time favourite albums?

“Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap” – AC/DC.

What’s best? Vinyl, Cassettes, CD’s or Downloads?

Vinyl – with a download code 😊

What’s the best gig that you have played to date?

B-Side Festival in our beloved Münster. We had a wild night with 800 friends and fans.

If you weren’t a musician, what else would you be doing?

Maybe graphic designers…or night porters…or pizza delivery boys…It’s funny, because its true!

Which five people would you invite to a dinner party?

Our parents and Ricky Gervais.

What’s next for the band?

Our next album is in the making. All songs are done, we’re just waiting for a lift on travel restrictions to head to Copenhagen and record them at Heyman Studios!

What Social Media/Website links do you use to get your music out to people?

www.order69.com/
www.facebook.com/order69official/
www.instagram.com/order.69/

Jaffa Cakes! Are they a cake or a biscuit?

We don’t have those in Germany… ☹ Send us a pack, we’ll figure it out!

Thank you for your time. Is there anything else that you would like to add?

Thank you too! If you’re an old-school kinda person, order our physical album (CD or Vinyl) and enjoy the artwork!
