There is no doubt that Giobia’s latest release, “X-AEON”, is an album to  listen to whilst travelling in outer space. The songs are basically instrumentals viaggio astrale

Yes, Giobia is from Italy, the home of well-known Power Metal bands, such as Rhapsody of Fire, Labyrinth, among others. So, I may say that Giobia is a great surprise – while their peers play guitar solos at the speed of light, on “X-AEON” the guitar technique is exactly the opposite, since the guitar player takes his time to spread the guitar presence during the whole songs, improvising diminutive solos and giving light to the song’s bridges all around “X-AEON” listening. To be honest, Giobia’s vibe seems more meaningful to me.

Musical styles diversity is always welcome, especially when that diversity is captured on a single song experience. ‘La Mort de la Terre’ is a four-piece saga split on ‘Vers le Terres – Rouges’; ‘Les Ferromagnétaux’; ‘L’Eau Fugitive’; ‘Dans la Nuit Éternelle’. All these songs perform a tremendous ambience to a proper psychedelic space travel, moulded so to provide to the listeners a ‘feel good’ sensation.

So, wait for compassed guitar flows, while the song’s timing is provided by hypnotic jazzy drums conductions. It sounded to me that “X-AEON” goes way beyond what regular progressive songs use to deliver. The producing and mixing process are unique mixing bass lines with the organ space rock aspectual.

“X-AEON” isn’t an album to be listened to on a random mode, there is no point doing that, otherwise you’re going to lose the continuum behind the songs. I warn all space passengers that Giobia offers you a one-way ticket to an endless quantum experience on “X-AEON”.
