Hi everyone! Welcome to our new EMQ’s interview with Belgian Death Metal band, Bleedskin. Huge thanks to them for taking part.
What is your name, what do you play, and can you tell us a little bit about the history of the band?
Hello, we are Bleedskin, a death metal band from Belgium! The band was founded in 2016 by Céline Mazay (guitars) and Rémy Adam (bass).
What Country/Region are you from and what is the Metal/Rock scene like there?
Belgium has over 1200 metal bands. There are a lot of small independent places but also a few big festivals in the summer. We can count a lot of small amateur bands, but also renowned bands such as Aborted or Channel Zero.
What is your latest release? (Album, EP, Single, Video)
“Blood Reign”. It’s our first full album, released on October 2nd 2020. You can listen to it for free on Youtube, Bandcamp, Spotify…

Who have been your greatest influences?
We love Dying Fetus, Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth, Abnormality
If you could collaborate with a current band or musician who would it be?
Dying Fetus, such a great band!
If you could play any festival in the world, which would you choose and why?
The main stage of MetalDays (Slovenia). This is the most beautiful festival in the world!
If you had one message for your fans, what would it be?
Keep death metal alive!
If you could bring one rock star back from the dead, who would it be?
Chuck Schuldiner, from the band Death. A very impressive guitar player.
What do you enjoy the most about being a musician? And what do you hate?
Love: When you play a song, you live the song. It’s a wonderful feeling!
Hate: In the “internet age”, everything published online must be completely perfect each time. It’s sometimes frustrating.
If you could change one thing about the music industry, what would it be?
Don’t dictate to people what to listen to. Instead, let them listen to whatever, so they can find out themselves what they like.
Name one of your all-time favourite albums?
“Rage Against The Machine” from RATM.
What’s best? Vinyl, Cassettes, CD’s or Downloads?
All! They are all pretty good, with their advantages and disadvantages.
What’s the best gig that you have played to date?
We had a good show at the Heretic Metal Fest 2020 (Belgium). Not the biggest festival, but we had a very good feelings before, during, and after the shows.
If you weren’t a musician, what else would you be doing?
We don’t know. Music is life!
What’s next for the band?
Quarantine live-session, play through rehearsals, a single, and writing a new album!
