Florida’s death metal trio Inhuman Condition return with new album “Fearsick”

Inhuman Condition are one of those bands that immediately grab your attention – I was a huge fan of their debut “Rat God” and with the familiar looking album cover by Dan Goldsworthy, Inhuman Condition are already getting points for sheer consistency alone! And it’s wasn’t long before the grin was on my face as opener ‘The Mold Testament’ had me comfortably reassured that this journey was going to be a fun one.

By the second track, I was already into highlight track territory. ‘Recycled Hate’ has an absolute abundance of raspy vocals, superb guitar riffs, and breakneck drumming patterns, and is easily the track I’ve played the most, and will continue to do so, even though follow up track, ‘Caustic Vomit Reveries’, is equally as punishing, with a great guitar solo, and at times, vocally,  an early Morbid Angel feel.

I made this comparison on first listen, and then as soon as ‘I’m Now the Monster’ started, I honestly felt like I was back in my teens again. This band are able to make me feel nostalgic but at the same time inject some premium blood into their Modern Death Metal – more of this please, by the bucketload!!

The trio of ‘King Con’ ‘Hellucid’ & ‘Woundcollecter’ are again another indication of the band’s adaptability – the latter track especially is easily a contender for a live crowd favourite.

To this point, “Fearsick” had been a full-on assault spawned from chaos, and it had no intention of letting the listener experience anything else! It was straight on to the accelerator with ‘Fencewalker’, which brought more surprises – the mid part has some unbelievably ethereal parts mixed in with some juicy basslines! Then the final track, ‘Where Pain Is Infinity’, just seals the deal and perfectly encapsulates the entire aesthetic of this superb album.

Straight ‘dagger to the heart’ savagery. Love it!
