One of the mainstays of English Metal with a repertoire littered with timeless gems is back with a brand new album. It’s called “Bloodlines” and it is indeed a pedigree of sorts.

“Bloodlines” has a good mix of epic, catchy and cathartic tunes with a sound production that is similarly well-balanced. The album boasts some very good material with some songs standing out more than others.

‘Fire On The Horizon’, for instance, is a scorcher of a track. It’s followed by ‘Light Of Hope’, a song replete with hooks and with vocalist Jacopo Meille in fine form. ‘Taste Of Love’ is a superlative power ballad with vocals and guitars that work really well together. ‘A New Heartbeat’ is a catchy number that just grabs you hook, line and sinker.

Even those 1 or 2 songs that didn’t stick with me as strongly as the rest still have their own merits. An example is ‘Making All The Rules’ – a mid-tempo song which closes the album and which has a dark melancholic feel that gives “Bloodlines” a broader palette.

Doubtlessly in “Bloodlines” we find the Tygers Of Pan Tang in damn fine shape.
