EMQ’s With Necrambulant
EMQ’s With Necrambulant
Hi everyone! Welcome to another EMQs interview, this time with USA Slam band, Necrambulant. Huge thanks to their Guitarist, Ron, for taking part.
What is your name, what do you play and can you tell us a little bit about the history of the band?
Ron, Guitar here. The original line-up (Chad, Andy, and myself) was in other bands within the AZ local scene. We got together and formed Necrambulant with the intention of being Brutal Death Metal with some Tech elements the likes of early Decapitated. The project quickly devolved into a Slam band within the first jam sessions and the rest is history.
How did you come up with your band name?
The name was created by the founder/original bass player of the band Chad Eklund (formerly of Meathook and Viraemia), it is the combination of Necro-Ambulant, a fancy way to say “Zombie”.
What Country / Region are you from and what is the Metal / Rock scene like there?
Phoenix, AZ, US. What scene? We’re all here to play Death Metal and party!
What is your latest release? (Album, EP, Single, Video)
The new album “Upheaval of Malignant Necrambulence” is set for release on March 7th,2025 through Gorehouse Productions!
Who have been your greatest influences?
Gorerotted, Skinless, Katalepsy, Abominable Putridity, Devourment, Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel
What first got you into music?
Parents showed me Black Sabbath once and now all I do is smoke weed and groove out. lol – Weed, not even once.
If you could collaborate with a current band or musician who would it be?
Vault (Link), and Paroxysmal (Link)
If you could play any festival in the world, which would you choose and why?
Obscene Extreme, always amazing bands, plus ultimate party.
What’s the weirdest gift you have ever received from a fan?
A jar of spit, a half-used tube of toothpaste, various collections of toenail and hair clippings, Really, none, we don’t get gifts, but all members of Necrambulant are needing stuff and things.
If you had one message for your fans, what would it be?
Get violent.
If you could bring one rock star back from the dead, who would it be?
Dave Brockie.
What do you enjoy the most about being a musician? And what do you hate?
Getting stoned and jamming, what do I hate? Shitty bands, sub par musicians, having to deal with weird fuckers talking to you about their shitty band, no one cares dude.
If you could change one thing about the music industry, what would it be?
It runs perfectly fine and there are no problems, I wouldn’t change a thing! [Paid Actor]
Name one of your all-time favourite albums?
GWAR – “America Must Be Destroyed”
What’s best? Vinyl, Cassettes, CD’s or Downloads?
A. They all have their place but:
Vinyl – Sound
Cassette – Collect/Sound(pending the band)
CD – Collect
What’s the best gig that you have played to date?
SoCal Flesh Fest was pretty killer from what I remember.
If you weren’t a musician, what else would you be doing?
Working a desk job and answering stupid questions like this.
Which five people would you invite to a dinner party?
Andy “Bonemeat” York, Trent Pittard, and Matt Riena, fuck those other 2 people.
What’s next for the band?
Ratting out humanity hiding spots when AI/Robots/Aliens take over, you got 4 perfect lap dogs willing to sell out their species. Really though, the new album releases on 3/7/2025; followed by fests and out of state dates.

Time for a very British question now. As an alternative to the humble sandwich, is the correct name for a round piece of bread common in the UK either a Bap, a Barm (or Barm Cake), a Batch, a Bun, a Cob, a Muffin, a Roll, or a Tea Cake?
Barm
Thank you for your time. Is there anything else that you would like to add?
Stay true, and stay brutal. Make your stance in history and support bands that keep the old school alive. Don’t be a poser.
