Goremageddon 2025 Preview
Saturday 22nd March 2025
Star And Garter Manchester
By Oli Gonzalez
Many a great thing can be said about Manchester’s vast, VAST music scene, a city that quite frankly never sleeps when it comes to its live music offerings. Especially the extreme metal side, considering the city is now home to Damnation Festival and other smaller festivals such as Offal Festival. Consider adding another to your calendar in only a short few weeks; Goremaggedon.
After the 2024 edition which the organisers described as one that ‘exceeded our expectations’, 2025 sees a return to Manchester’s immortal Star And Garter venue and offers an intimate and up close setting for the carnage that will likely ensue. A setting with enviable public transport links with Piccadilly tram and train stations being 2 minutes walk away. The local and UK underground scene will be represented by the Manchester’s Pivorapist, southern powerhouse Public Execution, hotly tipped Vast Slug from Norwich, three-piece grind machine Priest Crippler, and from Ireland we have one man mission Lymphoedema.
The event will be headlined by Japan’s legendary Viscera Infest, in a debut UK appearance. The band are acclaimed with creating the rather calamitous cockroach mosh pit (YouTube is your friend) which will surely flood the social media accounts for attendees that day. If the UK debut isn’t enough of a ‘I was there’ moment, surely telling your friends you were in a cockroach pit will raise some eyebrows but spike some curiosity. That is if your senses haven’t been obliterated by the power trios blistering grind assault!
