Hi everyone! Welcome to another EMQs interview, this time with French Speed/ Power Space Metal Opera project, Aedan Sky. Huge thanks to their Singer/Songwriter/ Guitarist, Seb, for taking part.
What is your name, what do you play and can you tell us a little bit about the history of the band?
Hi, I am Seb, the songwriter /singer and guitarist of the new project called AEDAN SKY. It’s a space opera concept album of pure speed power metal.
How did you come up with your band name?
Aedan Sky tells the story of SKY and AEDAN on their cosmic journey through space, time, and awakening. So naturally, I called it AEDAN SKY, as the two protagonists.
What Country / Region are you from and what is the Metal / Rock scene like there?
I am from the south of France. And there is not too much metal stuff around here.
The metal scene is more present in the north of the country.
What is your latest release? (Album, EP, Single, Video)
The Universal Realm of Aedan Sky through Rockshots Records.
Who have been your greatest influences?
Kai Hansen from Gamma Ray, for sure, and also a French artist called J.J Goldman.
What first got you into music?
Metallica got me into metal when I was a teenager.
If you could collaborate with a current band or musician who would it be?
With Helloween or Avantasia would be something.
If you could play any festival in the world, which would you choose and why?
I think Wacken will be good! The music I make is very inspired by German metal.
What’s the weirdest gift you have ever received from a fan?
I’ve got no weird stuff from fans.
If you had one message for your fans, what would it be?
Feel the power!! It’s all inside of you.
If you could bring one rock star back from the dead, who would it be?
If they are dead, it’s for a reason. They should stay like this.
What do you enjoy the most about being a musician? And what do you hate?
What I love the most is creating new music. Songwriting. What I hate ? Maybe the fatigue.
If you could change one thing about the music industry, what would it be?
More money for artists!!

Somewhere out in space by Gamma Ray

I like CD’s
What’s the best gig that you have played to date?
We made with my other band GALDERIA an european tour with THERION. It was really cool.
If you weren’t a musician, what else would you be doing?
Mmmm a landscaper maybe ??
Which five people would you invite to a dinner party?
My familly for sure. But if you talk about famous people, I would say : Christ, Bouddha, Yoda, Son Goku and Kenshiro would be something! haha
What’s next for the band?
We are already working on the second part of the story!! 😉

Time for a very British question now. As an alternative to the humble sandwich, is the correct name for a round piece of bread common in the UK either a Bap, a Barm (or Barm Cake), a Batch, a Bun, a Cob, a Muffin, a Roll, or a Tea Cake?
Mmmm Sorry, as a French guy, I’ve got no idea of what you’re talking about!!
