Mars Red Sky are back, the French trio have made a concept album where the music tells the narrative and the pop laden vocals are an accompaniment. The opening track ‘Break Even’ sounds like the soundtrack to a Kaiju destroying a city, and is a heavy groove piece, a fantastic single from Mars Red Sky. ‘Carnival Man’ is a rhythmic number with jagged vocals, with a chorus so catchy you will be singing along! This song is as gentle as it is ferocious, with a delicately crafted middle section, clean guitars and jazz fused drums lead to another build up bringing back the fuzzed out heaviness that Mars Red Sky are known for.

Next up on “Dawn Of The Dusk” is ‘Heavenly Bodies’, an acoustic reprieve with harmonica and what sounds like sleigh bells, and almost choir-like vocals. Speaking of vocals, the next track up is ‘Maps Of Inferno’, the vocals here have a sense of urgency about them and the bass really drives this song forward.

The last three tracks on this album make up a trilogy, I will not say too much about these as I think you should all go listen to this very second bask in the glory that is Mars Red Sky. I’ll give you a minute to go check them out..
