Greetings earthlings!
BEHOLD for I have been drawn unto the world of the ever grandiose symphonic mastery of Raze The Altar. I’m wondering if a certain omniscient alien has had a hand in this other worldly creation?
Raze The Altar, a self made, self released, one man mish mash eclectic project of Symphonic/ Industrial/Deathcore Metal from Wales, UK, has teamed up for symphonic deathcore collaboration with fellow human solo project guitarist marvel Elysian Tyrant from Spain to create the single, ‘Sifting Through The Ashes Of Arcadia’.
Within the first few bars of organ introducing us into this track, I’m instantly transported back to 2002 Arcturus and I start to get excited.It has notable influences such as Arcturus and Devin Townsend. In fact the ingenuity and emotional glory of this track screams Devin to me.
Which is, quite frankly fucking awesome.
I’m also detecting a lot of the melodic metalcore polished grand tones of Bring me The Horizon influences thrown in amongst this delicious mix of genre bending melodies..
This collaboration (in my humblest opinion) is definitely one to check out as far as crushing riffs, beautiful guitar
solos, epic symphonic crescendos, and BIG drops. It seems to have everything.
A highly grandiose track with it’s vocals being some sort of gymnastically ranged extraordinaire, with very HIGH and LOW death growls, beautiful clean singing AND deep guttural pig grunts. This vocalist ( or vocalists we don’t really know) could dare I say rival to the great Mr Hevy Devy himself, which is bloody impressive!
I particularly enjoyed the uplifting grandeur and symphonic beauty of this majestic track. I highly recommend you go and have a listen, as it’s OUT NOW, and follow both artists on their individual band camps and social media links below.
To conclude, if you enjoy very well produced, proficient, and grandiose symphonic industrial deathcore metal with beautiful guitar arrangements, a very impressive death metal vocal range AND clean singing then you’ll not be disappointed with this delight of a single! I can only hope for more collaborations from these two brilliant solo projects for me to review, fingers crossed for an album maybe?
