Gig Preview – Reaper All Dayer

Reaper All Dayer
Saturday February 1st 2025
Rebellion, Manchester
Preview by Oli Gonzalez

Reaper Agency. One of the fastest growing names in the Extreme Metal scene. Curators of the incredible Fortress Festival and many sold out shows across the North of England, creating countless ‘I was there moments’ along the way. Were you there for Ultha’s blistering performance at Fortress, or Blackbraid’s hotly awaited UK debut? Were you in attendance for Stormkeep’s UK debut in the summer of 2023, or the exclusive album release all dayer of February 2024 which included the likes of Abduction and The Infernal Sea, or for Hulder’s scorching headline set in November of last year? What do the last 3 have in common? They all took place at Rebellion, Manchester, a new stronghold and self-described second home for the organisation. Next up, Reaper Agency will head beach to the hallowed ground on Saturday February 1st, with another all day bonanza of Black Metal, and a who’s who of the UK’s emerging Extreme Metal scene.

Originating from New Zealand and now residing in Scotland, the event will be headlined by a rare live appearance from Barshaketh. Shrouded in mystery and intrigue, the band are riding the momentum from the release of “Antinomian Asceticism” which will satiate anybody who likes their Metal dark, brooding, and uncompromisingly atmospheric.

The line-up features multiple Fortress Festival alumni, including the Blackened Death-Doom fusion of Abyssal and the unwavering ferocity of hotly tipped Blood Countess. Masters Call add some firepower in the middle of the card, whereas this may well be an opportunity to catch a sneak preview of the soon-to-be-released debut album of the North East standouts Nemorous! Blasfeme, Aklash, Cistvaen, and Necroritual complete the rest of the lower card. Just a whistle-stop tour of the bands who flesh out this lineup, and at under £30 for the ticket, this really is a steal, given the outrageously high cost of concert tickets today (get yours at https://reaperagencyuk.bigcartel.com ).

Worried about having to skip the headliner to get the last train home? This shouldn’t be an issue as the event is taking a very clever European approach with Barshaketh scheduled to finish at roughly 10pm, long before the last trains and buses. With Deansgate train station being literally right next to the venue and the nearest tram stop 2 minutes across the road, accessibility should be no barrier. Of course, if you do fancy sticking around for a bit longer, Calligram will close out the show in a much welcome aftershow show!

So, will you be there on February 1st? What moment will make you look back and think ‘I was there’?
