EMQ’s With Jesse Stilettö
EMQ’s With Jesse Stilettö
Hi everyone! Welcome to another EMQs interview, this time with Other-wordly Heavy Psychedelic/ Doom Rock duo, Jesse Stilettö. Huge thanks to them for taking part!
What is your name, what do you play and can you tell us a little bit about the history of the band?
We’re Jesse Stilettö. The band has always existed in some form, travelling the cosmos – this is just the version you’re seeing now.
How did you come up with your band name?
It found us when the time was right. When it was time to tell her story.
What Country / Region are you from and what is the Metal / Rock scene like there?
Jesse Stilettö has journeyed the galaxy for eons. For now, we linger in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a land of icy Metal and hard, unforgiving Rock. The scene here is loud, heavy, and built to withstand the cold.
What is your latest release? (Album, EP, Single, Video)
Our self-titled debut album arrives on March 14th, 2025.
Who have been your greatest influences?
The legendary Blue Öyster Cult are one of the precursors who guide our voyage.
What first got you into music?
The need to articulate universal emotions.
If you could collaborate with a current band or musician who would it be?
Anyone who believes we can bring greater balance to existence. Who believes that space and time aren’t barriers, but paths we can learn to walk. Together, our voices would open new possibilities.
If you could play any festival in the world, which would you choose and why?
PALP Festival in Switzerland, maybe. The idea of shaking the mountains awake is appealing. Music should be played where the earth feels alive.
What’s the weirdest gift you have ever received from a fan?
Energy and their time, the most precious gifts anyone has to give.
If you had one message for your fans, what would it be?
Time isn’t as straight as they say. There are places only sound can take you. Keep moving.
If you could bring one rock star back from the dead, who would it be?
Stars don’t die. They just find different dimensions.
What do you enjoy the most about being a musician? And what do you hate?
The ability to speak beyond words — to touch souls — is a true gift. But it takes time to find the right souls.
If you could change one thing about the music industry, what would it be?
Let the people who care build the foundation. Let the soulless suits find another playground.
Name one of your all-time favourite albums?
“Heaven and Hell”. A timeless blueprint.
What’s best? Vinyl, Cassettes, CDs or Downloads?
Vinyl. You have to earn the sound. A ritual, instead of a convenience.
Which five people would you invite to a dinner party?
The right ones always show up, invited or otherwise.
What’s next for the band?
March 14th, 2025. The fuse is already lit.
What Social Media / Website links do you use to get your music out to people?
Bandcamp – https://jessestiletto.bandcamp.com/
Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/jesse_stiletto/
There’s a long-standing food-based debate here in the UK. And we’d like your help. So… A Jaffa cake – is it a cake or a biscuit? Discuss!
A question with no answer. A true paradox wrapped in cellophane.
Thank you for your time. Is there anything else that you would like to add?
Jesse Stilettö, and others like us, are eternally grateful for your support.
Now prepare to enter the portal.
