ELECTRO INDUSTRIAL TOP 5 ALBUMS
01. Psyclon Nine – “AND THEN OBLIVION”

I must say that much to my surprise, Psyclon Nine brings something fresh on “And Then Oblivion”. Nero Bellum used to go way too far with a minimalistic Harsh Industrial approach. But this time it felt to me like Psyclon Nine – after ups and downs and drug abuse – delivered one of their best albums to date.
Listen to: ‘Locust of Everything’, ‘Taxidermy’

02. Dark Sky Burial – “The Sacred Neurotic”

“The Sacred Neurotic” was the last album that I reviewed for Ever Metal in 2025. And what a great surprise I had. So allow me to quote myself on that one.”What is heard on “The Sacred Neurotic” are 9 songs in state-of-the-art mode. It sounded to me like the band/project is based on electronic layers and drum programming working to deliver to the songs a very pleasant background conduction, creating a kind of Harsh Industrial meets Progressive Rock compositions”.
Listen to: ‘Cermunnos’, ‘Possessed by the Animus’

03. Dulce Liquido – “Mind Domination”

“Mind Domination” strikes far beyond techno EBM’s Harsh Industrial limits. Of course, I was warned, the band’s name is DULCE LIQUIDO and used to be a Racso Agroyam project to ‘chill out’ after releasing aggrotech gothic industrial pieces with his main band – Hocico. The thing on “Mind Domination” is that I actually found peace right in the centre of the void.
Listen to: ‘Wrath’, ‘Retratos de Una Era Muerta’

04. Skold – “Caught In The Throes”

Tim Skold is the most prolific and unstoppable harsh industrial music composer. Besides releasing one album per-year for his own band, Tim Skold also contributes to composing and remixing Industrial oriented songs for a couple of bands/musicians from the scene (Not My God, for instance, is a side project with Nero Bellum, from Psyclon Nine). On “Caught In the Throes”, Tim Skold explores more his Industrial Rock musical façade.

05. Blut Aus Nord – “Ethereal Horizons”

“Etheral Horizons” is a brutal Industrial Metal meets Black Metal in the middle of a musical orchestrate mayhem. How does it sound to you? To me, I always thought that industrial layers and drum programming open texture works perfectly well with the austere Black Metal patterns. And Blut Aus Nord has it all on “Ethereal Horizons”

NOT THAT METAL TOP 5 ALBUMS
01. Nine Inch Nails – “TRON: Ares (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)”

I haven’t watched the movie ‘Tron: Ares’ yet and, to be honest, I wasn’t familiar with what Tron is all about at all. What I do know is that I saw the movie through Nine Inch Nails’ full record. Epic. Reznor and Atticus Ross don’t need to prove anything to anyone. They are Industrial Music groundbreakers. Period.
Listen to: ‘Init’ until ‘Shadow Over Me’

02. Baby Metal – “Metal Forth”

Listening to a Baby Metal album is always a welcome surprise to me. On “Metal Forth” it is no different. Almost all of the songs on “Metal Forth” are performed along with mainstream singers. The likes of Tom Morello; Electric Cowboy and Spiritbox couldn’t be all wrong to appear on “Metal Forth”, right? Baby Metal overcomes any musical labels available so far.
Listen to: ‘RATATATA’, ‘White Flame’

03. Ghost – “Esqueletá (Skeleta)”

What is new on the Ghost fields? One might try to list tons of musical allusions on “EsqueletÔ. In my point of view, Ghost has created his own references to traverse the previous albums collection. Sometimes I follow a band because of their musical style; but sometimes I choose a band to see how far that band is able to grow by its own creative intuition.
Listen to: ‘Lackryma’, ‘De Profundis Borealis’

04. Nova Twins – “Parasite & Butterflies”

The first time that I kept in touch with Nova Twins was during The Pandemics Era. I got hooked by Amy Love and Georgia South noise energy juggernaut. And years gone by and Nova Twins on “Paradise & Butterflies” keeps enchanting me with impressive headphone blowers drum&bass.
Listen to: ‘Monsters’, ‘Parallel Universe’

05. Spiritbox – Tsunami Sea

On “Tsunami Sea” my thing was to find out why fans get so crazy about Spiritbox. I figured it out right in the very first song what was about to come. There is so much musical diversity to my ears to decodify. It was a blind ear experience and that felt good to me.

BLACK METAL TOP 5 ALBUMS 2025
01. Behemoth – “The Shit Ov God”

You can’t go wrong when you listen to a Behemoth new album. What a pleasure to listen to “The Shit Ov God”. This album is s-a-t-a-n-i-c. Behemoth, is the legitimate pioneer of Polish Black Metal (Blackened Death Metal), which doesn’t have enough obscure music to flatter the ones of the Baphomet’s hordes.
Listen to: ‘Sowing Salt’ ; ‘Nomen Barbarvm’

02. Agriculture – “The Spiritual Sound”

You know that you’ve gone too far with this Black Metal music thing when you are listening to something sooo aggressive and detestable just before Christmas Eve. I don’t know if I am able to describe the punishing songs on “The Spiritual Sound”. Agriculture creates a subversive music far beyond man’s capability.
Listen to: ‘Micah (5:15am)’ ; ‘Hallelujah’

03. Cradle of Filth – “The Scream of the Valkyries”

Dani doesn’t have enough of writing dark Filth Poetry. On “The Screams of the Valkyries” the song’s lyrics aren’t a conceptual horror tale, though; The fact is that Dani developed, through the years, his own singing technique and it is unlikely that a Black Metal supporter wouldn’t recognize Dani Filth’s grunts. Still relevant.
Listen to – ‘White Hellebore’ ; ‘You Are My Nautilus’

04. Eons of Decay – “Tome 1 Ultima Pangea”

Where would you find a debut album from a band which has only 40 followers on Spotify listed among a Top 5 list? On a Metalphysicist top list! I reviewed that one for Ever Metal; then I said: “Tome 1 Ultima Pangea” is an album that relates to what I would call ‘state of art’, forcing me to rate it with a perfect 10 score! Because Eons of Decay play such incredible songs, that reach beyond my wisdom, making it difficult to conceive a complete review in words of what is heard on the album!”
Listen to: ‘Digital Agora’ ; ‘Ultima Pangea’

05. Saor – “Amidst the Ruins”

It is very cool when a band brings into the mixture of my daily Black Metal basics some Pagan Folk sauce with atmospheric extra flavour. On “Amidst the Ruins”, Saor delivers Black Metal forged on folk instruments whose sonority sounds grand and epic.
Listen to: ‘Echoes of the Ancient Land’, ‘Rebirth
